Mon Mar 10 14:35:02 UTC 2025: ## Tanzanian Student Arrested in India on Suspicion of Drug Trafficking
**KOZHIKODE, INDIA (March 10, 2025)** – A Tanzanian national, Prince Samson, has been arrested in Bengaluru, India, on suspicion of being a key agent in a large-scale drug trafficking operation between Kerala and Karnataka states. Samson, who was studying for a Bachelor of Computer Applications degree, was apprehended following a two-week investigation by the Sultan Bathery police and the Bengaluru anti-narcotics squad.
The arrest stems from a tip-off provided by Shafeeque, a Malappuram native arrested on February 24th with 94 grams of suspected MDMA. Police discovered suspicious financial transactions totaling ₹80 lakh (approximately $97,000 USD) within a short period in Samson’s accounts, leading them to believe he was facilitating the movement of large sums of money for drug smugglers.
Four mobile phones and several laptops were seized from Samson’s rented Bengaluru residence. Authorities expect further arrests following forensic analysis of these devices. The investigation is ongoing.
