**UDHAGAMANDALAM, INDIA – March 10, 2025** – A 34-year-old tribal man, L. Vijayakumar, was killed by an elephant in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India, on Sunday evening. Vijayakumar, who lived in Adderly Estate, Burliyar, was returning home from work with a friend when the attack occurred. While his friend escaped unharmed and alerted authorities, Vijayakumar suffered fatal injuries. Police recovered his body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
