**Hyderabad, March 10, 2025** – Narayanguda Police have arrested Palash Paul, a West Bengal resident, for allegedly defrauding multiple Hyderabad residents of ₹91 lakh. Paul, who was also wanted for murder, posed as an interior designer specializing in teak wood, collecting large sums of money before disappearing without delivering the promised materials.
Police investigations revealed that Paul used fake videos and high-quality samples to build trust with clients, targeting owners of newly constructed buildings. His fraudulent activities resulted in three separate cases: ₹66 lakh in Narayanguda, ₹16 lakh in Shamshabad, and ₹10 lakh in Raidurgam.
The arrest followed a complaint filed by M. Nikhith Reddy, who alleged Paul had taken ₹66 lakh for woodwork but subsequently became uncontactable. Paul was apprehended near Krishnakant Park on March 7th.
During the arrest, police recovered assets worth ₹60 lakh, including cash, gold, a scooter, multiple phones, and property documents related to flats in West Bengal. The recovered assets include ₹18.65 lakh frozen in his bank account, 120 grams of gold ornaments, and ₹40,000 in cash, and property valued at ₹36.5 lakh.
Paul is also an absconder in a murder case registered at SR Nagar Police Station, allegedly murdering his friend after the friend discovered Paul’s affair with his wife. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him following his failure to attend court hearings after being released on bail. The investigation is ongoing.
