Sun Mar 09 19:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Garcia Dominates LIV Golf Hong Kong, Securing Individual and Team Victories
**HONG KONG –** Sergio Garcia delivered a stellar performance at the LIV Golf Hong Kong event, capturing both the individual and team championships. Garcia shot a final round 7-under 63 to finish at 18-under 192, seven strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. His victory marked the sixth team title for the Fireballs GC, following their win in Adelaide last week.
Starting the final round in a three-way tie for the lead, Garcia quickly surged ahead with an eagle on the third hole and four consecutive birdies from holes eight to eleven. A crucial birdie on the 16th further cemented his lead. Despite a significant individual advantage heading into the 18th, Garcia needed a par to secure the team victory. He deftly executed a birdie putt, sealing the double win for himself and the Fireballs GC at 37-under par.
Dean Burmester of South Africa carded the round of the day with a 62, finishing second at 15-under. Phil Mickelson, in his first LIV podium appearance, finished third after a final round 64. Other notable performances included Lucas Herbert’s 64 (fourth place) and Paul Casey’s 69 (fifth place).
Garcia, at 45, expressed his enjoyment of the team format and his role as a mentor within his team, which includes fellow Spaniard David Puig and Luis Masaveu, as well as Abraham Ancer of Mexico. Fellow veteran Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, stated his confidence in his current form, highlighting the tournament as a positive step towards his goals of winning a LIV event and contending at the upcoming Masters Tournament.
The LIV Golf tour continues next weekend in Singapore.
