Large crowds gathered at various locations, including the State Secretariat and Kukatpally, celebrating with cheering, dancing, and fireworks. However, the situation escalated on the Pune-Machilipatnam Highway near the Dilsukhnagar Metro Station, where approximately 5,000 people, mainly students, blocked traffic, even climbing onto RTC buses.
According to Inspector V. Saidi Reddy of the Saroornagar police, the congestion became so severe that it hampered the movement of ambulances, prompting police to use lathi charges to disperse the crowds.
