Mon Mar 10 11:13:49 UTC 2025: ## Air India Express Reaches 100-Plane Milestone with Karnataka-Inspired Livery

**Bengaluru, March 10, 2025** – Air India Express celebrated a significant milestone today with the induction of its 100th aircraft, a Boeing 737-8. The new plane features a unique tail design showcasing “Chittara” art, a traditional mural painting style from Karnataka.

The airline’s “Tales of India” initiative adorns each aircraft with a different regional art form, highlighting India’s diverse artistic heritage. Previous liveries have featured styles like Ajrakh, Bandhani, and Kalamkari. The Chittara art, created by the Deewaru community using natural colours, represents prosperity and celebrates the region’s cultural richness.

The aircraft was officially launched at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, Air India Express’s largest hub, by Managing Director Aloke Singh. It will service the Bengaluru-Hindon route.

Singh emphasized the momentous occasion, stating that the achievement reflects the airline’s rapid growth and transformation since its privatization in 2022. The fleet has nearly doubled in size, expanding from 54 aircraft to 100. This expansion includes the addition of several new domestic and international routes, including destinations in the northeast and Southeast Asia. The airline highlighted its commitment to connecting Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, playing a key role in India’s burgeoning aviation sector.
