**Kannur, Kerala, March 9, 2025** – A task force has been deployed in Mokeri panchayat, Kannur, following the death of a farmer, A.K. Sreedharan, in a wild boar attack. The initiative, launched Sunday under the direction of Forest and Wildlife Minister A.K. Saseendran, aims to mitigate the increasing threat posed by wild boars in the region.
Led by MLA K.P. Mohanan, the task force comprises authorized shooters, forest officials, and panchayat representatives. The team, including empaneled shooters Joby Sebastian and C.K. Vinod, began search operations in the area where the attack occurred. Mokeri panchayat president P. Valsan and Range Officer Sudheer Neroth also participated.
MLA Mohanan stated that search operations will continue and urged local farmers to cooperate with the task force’s efforts to prevent further incidents. The task force’s deployment underscores the growing concern over wild boar attacks and the government’s commitment to protecting residents.
