Sat Mar 08 17:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Accelerates Indira Kranthi Patham Housing Scheme Verification
**Vijayawada, [Date]:** The Andhra Pradesh government is speeding up the verification process for its Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP) housing scheme, aiming to build momentum for the ambitious project launched on January 26th. The scheme, which initially allocated 72,045 houses in its first phase, aims to provide 3,500 houses per constituency this fiscal year, totaling 562 village-level implementations across the state.
Officials have begun re-verifying the eligibility of applicants, particularly those in the L-1 category (individuals owning land). This re-verification process involves on-site visits to the homes of the 21.93 lakh applicants in the L-1 category, excluding the 72,045 already approved. Teams of four to five officials per mandal are conducting these checks.
The government has categorized applicants into three lists: L-1 (own land), L-2 (own land, no house), and L-3 (others). The initial data, collected via the Indira Kranthi Patham app, is being reviewed by Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) and municipal commissioners.
Complaints have been received regarding discrepancies in applicant categorization, with some claiming their names were incorrectly placed in L-2 or L-3 lists despite owning land. These complaints are also being investigated. Authorities are ensuring transparency and providing regular updates to higher officials.
The IKP scheme offers financial assistance of ₹5 lakh per beneficiary, disbursed in four installments directly into their bank accounts. The government is committed to expediting the construction process and ensuring a smooth experience for all beneficiaries.
