**Chennai, March 8, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government launched a comprehensive five-day skill development training program for 2,100 women police officers, ranging in rank from Sub-Inspector to Additional Superintendent of Police. A separate three-day program will train 23,805 women constables and other lower-ranked officers.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the initiative on International Women’s Day, marking a significant step towards combating crime against women and children. The training, taking place at the Tamil Nadu Police Academy and 15 In-Service Training Centres across the state, is being overseen by Director General of Police Shankar Jiwal and DGP, Training Sandeep Rai Rathore. The program aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of women officers in addressing these critical issues.
