**COIMBATORE, March 9, 2025** – Two separate vehicle fires disrupted traffic in Coimbatore city on Saturday night. The first incident involved a special-utility vehicle (SUV) that caught fire near Hopes College on Peelamedu Road. Occupants escaped unharmed after noticing smoke, but the vehicle was completely destroyed despite a one-hour firefighting effort by Peelamedu Fire Station personnel. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Later that evening, a two-wheeler also caught fire at Luna Nagar on Thadagam Road. No injuries were reported in either incident. Traffic was temporarily halted in both locations while emergency crews worked to extinguish the blazes.
