Sat Mar 08 18:43:03 UTC 2025: ## Madurai Women’s Self-Help Groups Receive ₹100.5 Crore in Loans

**Madurai, March 9, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government disbursed ₹100.5 crore in loans to 1,199 women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in Madurai today. Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration P. Moorthy and District Collector M.S. Sangeetha oversaw the distribution. The funds were allocated as follows: ₹36.16 crore to 468 rural SHGs and ₹63.26 crore to 655 urban SHGs. An additional ₹63 lakh was provided to 76 SHGs under the ‘Vazhndhu Kaatuvom’ scheme. Furthermore, top-performing SHGs, panchayat federations, and village poverty reduction associations from 2023-24 received the district-level Manimegalai award, including a certificate and ₹3.75 lakh.
