**Chennai, March 8, 2025** – Four people died and 28 others were injured in a collision between a government bus and a tipper lorry near Tiruttani in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district on Friday. Police have arrested the lorry driver, Baskar of Meyyur village, after he surrendered on Saturday. Preliminary investigations suggest that Baskar was driving under the influence of alcohol and using his mobile phone at the time of the accident, which occurred in K.G. Kandigai village. Baskar has been remanded in judicial custody.
