**Dadri, Uttar Pradesh:** Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday unveiled a statue of Maharana Pratap in Dadri, using the occasion to declare the Rajput warrior, along with Shivaji Maharaj and Guru Gobind Singh, as the true ideals of India, explicitly contrasting them with Mughal emperors Akbar and Aurangzeb.
Adityanath asserted that Akbar and Aurangzeb, whose attitudes towards Hindus he described as identical and conspiratorial, could never be considered national heroes. He lauded Maharana Pratap’s courage at the Battle of Haldighati, emphasizing his ability to stand against a vastly superior force, and highlighting the enduring reverence for the battlefield.
The Chief Minister praised the unwavering devotion of Pratap’s horse, Chetak, and stressed the importance of drawing inspiration from the lives of these historical figures for the present generation. He further suggested that those who disrespect these national heroes are in need of “treatment.”
Beyond the historical pronouncements, Adityanath also touched upon the success of the Maha Kumbh Mela, dismissing rumors about water pollution, and the vibrant Rangotsav celebrations in Brajbhoomi, highlighting India’s inclusivity. He further announced the inauguration and foundation laying of 97 development projects worth ₹1,467 crore in Gautam Buddha Nagar, including a government degree college and a 100-bed hospital. Incentives worth ₹617 crore were also distributed to 14 industrial units. Adityanath concluded by expressing optimism about the state’s economic prospects, attributing its prosperity to its cultural heritage and divine blessings.
