**TIRUPATTUR, March 8, 2025** – A fire that started in a house in Gajalnaickanpatti near Tirupattur town on Saturday afternoon quickly spread to three adjacent homes, resulting in the complete destruction of four houses. A 75-year-old woman, B. Noor Jahan, was rescued safely from her home, the origin of the blaze.
According to police, the fire began around 1 p.m. when smoke was noticed emanating from an electrical switchboard in Noor Jahan’s house. While her son was briefly away, Noor Jahan noticed the smoke and alerted neighbors. The fire, before firefighters arrived, spread rapidly to neighboring houses with asbestos roofs.
Residents reported severe eye irritation, particularly among children and the elderly, due to the thick smoke. Kandali police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the fire. The incident occurred on Bargur Main Road near Tirupattur town.
