**Vellore, March 9, 2025** – Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore marked World Diabetes Day with a series of competitions aimed at raising awareness about the disease, particularly its impact on foot health. Events included cooking competitions for the public, painting and essay contests for school children, quizzes for teachers and nursing students, and a poster competition for CMC staff.
Kingston International Academy won first prize in the school category, while Lakshmi Garden School and LFC Girls Higher Secondary School took second and third. In the college category, CMC Vellore’s Chittoor campus secured first place with a classical dance performance highlighting the theme of diabetes and foot health. Dr. Vimal College of Nursing and St. John’s School of Nursing placed second and third, respectively. Several schools and colleges received consolation prizes. The event was presided over by retired professor Rosaline Jeyakaran, with judging by a panel of CMC professors.
