**Madurai, March 8, 2025** – Madurai Corporation Commissioner Chitra Vijayan urged for a significant increase in the percentage of women pursuing higher education during a World Women’s Day celebration at the Madurai Institute of Social Sciences (MISS) on Saturday. Vijayan emphasized the crucial role of educated women in driving societal progress across all sectors. She challenged social work students to actively promote awareness and encourage more girls to pursue education.
