**Visakhapatnam, March 8, 2025** – Debutant writer-director Ram Jagadeesh is gearing up for the March 14th release of his Telugu courtroom drama, “Court – State Vs A Nobody.” Produced by Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema and starring Priyadarshi, Harsh Roshan, and Sridevi, the film is inspired by multiple cases related to the POCSO Act, drawing on a year and a half of research and six months of writing.
Jagadeesh, who cites influences such as “12 Angry Men,” “Murder on the Orient Express,” “Damini,” and Chaitanya Tamhane’s “Court,” meticulously crafted the screenplay, focusing on realistic courtroom portrayal. He visited district courts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for accurate representation and collaborated with cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman, known for his work on successful Tamil films.
The director’s journey involved working in the direction departments of several films and participating in short film competitions, which helped build his confidence and ultimately led him to Hyderabad. He secured Priyadarshi as his lead actor, even after the latter’s rise to stardom post “Balagam.” Nani, impressed by a five-hour-long narration, signed on as producer, providing support without interference.
“Court,” a 2-hour 29-minute film with only one song, features a large ensemble cast including Sai Kumar, Sivaji, Rohini, and Harshavardhan. Jagadeesh expresses his excitement and nerves about the release, already looking ahead to his next project with Wall Poster Cinema.
