**New Delhi, March 8, 2025** – In celebration of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi entrusted his social media accounts to seven accomplished women from diverse fields. This initiative, a continuation of a tradition started in 2020, provided these women with a global platform to share their inspiring stories and messages.

Among this year’s chosen women was chess grandmaster R. Vaishali, who used the platform to encourage young girls to pursue their dreams, regardless of obstacles. Other prominent participants included Anita Devi, known as the “Mushroom Lady of Bihar,” who highlighted the success of her women-led farming cooperative; nuclear scientist Elina Mishra and space scientist Shilpi Soni, who showcased the contributions of Indian women in STEM; and Ajaita Shah, CEO of Frontier Markets, who advocated for women’s financial empowerment and the use of technology to bridge the gender gap in rural areas. Dr. Anjlee Agarwal, founder of Samarthyam Centre for Universal Accessibility, focused on inclusive infrastructure and empowering individuals with disabilities.

The Prime Minister’s initiative aims to amplify the voices of exceptional women and inspire future generations. The takeover saw powerful messages of empowerment, perseverance, and the importance of pursuing one’s passions. The women’s posts highlighted their individual achievements while emphasizing the collective potential of women in India.
