**New Delhi, March 8, 2025** – A 42-year-old Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Jitendra Rawat, was found dead near his residence in Chanakyapuri, south Delhi, on Friday morning. Rawat, a director at the Overseas Employment and Protector General of Emigrants in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), was discovered by a security guard around 6:20 a.m. and subsequently declared dead at a hospital. Police reported that no suicide note was found at the scene.
The MEA issued a statement expressing its condolences to Rawat’s family and offering full assistance during this difficult time. Rawat resided with his 70-year-old mother in the MEA residential complex. Authorities are investigating the cause of death.
