**KOCHI, March 8, 2025** – The Kerala High Court will review a Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) decision allowing five students charged with murder to take their SSLC (Class 10) exams. The petition challenging the JJB’s order was filed by the father of the murdered student, Shahabaz, who argues the decision is unjust and illegal.
The father, Muhammed Iqbal, contends the JJB failed to consider the potential for the accused students to tamper with evidence, intimidate witnesses, and negatively impact other students taking the exam. The High Court has requested the state government’s response to the petition. The five students are currently housed in an observation home.
