**GUNTUR, March 8, 2025** – GUNTURR.V.R. and J.C. College of Engineering celebrated its 40th annual day on Saturday with a ceremony that highlighted academic achievement and artistic talent. The event featured Oscar-winning lyricist K. Chandrabose and Infosys delivery manager Suresh Narra as chief guests.
Narra stressed the importance of technical skills in driving innovation, while Chandrabose emphasized the need for a balance between education and artistic pursuits. He noted that his Oscar-winning song represented a source of pride for all Indians and brought global recognition to the Telugu language.
The college awarded scholarships totaling ₹63.40 lakh (approximately $770,000 USD) to 317 students, with each recipient receiving ₹20,000. An additional 19 outstanding students received cash awards. College president Rayapati Srinivas announced that the college has awarded a total of ₹4.45 crore (approximately $5.4 million USD) in scholarships to 2,711 students since 2006-07.
The celebration included cultural performances by students and was attended by college officials, faculty, students, and parents.
