**Seattle, WA** – The Seattle Kraken have acquired forward Michael Eyssimont and a significant haul of draft picks in a three-team trade involving the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings. In exchange for forwards Oliver Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde, the Kraken received Eyssimont from Tampa Bay, along with a conditional first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft (top-10 protected), a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and another conditional first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft (top-10 protected).

The trade also saw Gourde move to Detroit for defenseman Kyle Aucoin, before being immediately flipped to Tampa Bay for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. The Red Wings retained 50% of Gourde’s contract. Seattle also sent a fifth-round pick in 2026 to Tampa Bay as part of the deal.

Tampa Bay Lightning General Manager Julien BriseBois expressed confidence in the acquisitions of Bjorkstrand and Gourde, highlighting their experience, skill, and competitiveness. He stated a preference for a strong roster over accumulating draft picks, emphasizing the team’s focus on contending for the Stanley Cup.

Kraken coach Dan Bylsma acknowledged the mixed emotions surrounding the departure of Bjorkstrand and Gourde, but emphasized the value of the acquired draft capital, calling it “substantial” for the franchise’s future. The Kraken currently sit outside of playoff contention.

Eyssimont, who has recorded 10 points in 57 games this season, expressed excitement about joining the Kraken. The 28-year-old forward brings speed and offensive capabilities to Seattle’s lineup. The team hopes the influx of draft picks will help build for the future.
