**Aizawl, March 7, 2025** – All banks in Mizoram will remain closed today, Friday, March 7th, in observance of Chapchar Kut, a major harvest festival. The festival, celebrated with traditional dances, music, and cultural events, marks the end of the harvest season and is of significant importance to the Mizo community. This closure affects both public and private sector banks.

While this is a state-specific holiday, several other bank holidays are scheduled throughout March across various states due to different religious and cultural observances. These include Holi celebrations, Atukal Pongala, and other regional festivals. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued directives for these closures.
