**Hyderabad, India** – Ahmed Pasha Quadri, general secretary of the All India Majlis E Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has accused Hyderabad traffic police of deliberately targeting Muslims during Iftar, the evening meal that breaks the daily Ramadan fast. Quadri alleges that police are stopping motorcycles, forcing women passengers to dismount, and conducting vehicle checks specifically during Iftar, causing significant inconvenience and harassment. He claims this practice, which he says had been previously halted following his intervention, has resumed.

Quadri further urged the police to show leniency towards small businesses operating during Ramadan, citing the month’s importance for their livelihoods. He appealed to authorities to consider the hardship faced by these traders and allow them to continue their business without undue interference for the duration of the holy month. He characterized the police actions as setting a “wrong precedent” and demanded an immediate end to the alleged targeting of Muslims during Iftar.
