Fri Mar 07 06:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Rare Glowing Sandstar Creature Causes Gamer Frustration in Monster Hunter Wilds

**Windward Plains, [Date]** – Players of Monster Hunter Wilds are reporting extreme difficulty in capturing the elusive Sandstar, a nocturnal creature required for the late-game side quest, “Samin’s Special Research Report.” This quest, the final chapter in a running feud between characters Dareel and Samin, tasks players with capturing a series of rare creatures, the Sandstar being the most challenging yet.

Sandstars are only found in sandy areas of the Windward Plains at night, specifically around Area 13: Oasis. While they glow, making them visible, their low spawn rate has reportedly led some players to spend three nights searching. One helpful tip is to travel away from the oasis, then return, potentially triggering a respawn.

Adding to the challenge, players must use a Screamer Pod, obtained from Baunos creatures, to stun the Sandstar before attempting capture. The limited-use Screamer Pods cannot be crafted, requiring players to strategically locate and harvest them from Baunos beforehand. While a Ghillie Mantle may aid in stealth, quick reflexes are essential as the stunned state is short-lived.

Successfully capturing a Sandstar rewards players with the “I Caught a Shooting Star!” achievement/trophy and completion of the side quest. Players are advised to equip a capture net and aim carefully for a successful capture, and patience is key to overcoming this late-game hurdle.
