**Chennai, March 7, 2025** – A new Co-innovation Centre for robotics, launched at the Crescent Innovation and Incubation Council (CIIC) in Chennai, highlights Tamil Nadu’s burgeoning potential in the field. The centre, one of ten established nationwide under India’s National Mission on Inter-Disciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems, leverages the state’s robust manufacturing ecosystem and the enthusiasm of its student population.

Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO of I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IIT-Delhi), emphasized Tamil Nadu’s unique strengths: a strong manufacturing base, adoption of advanced technologies, and a student body eager to contribute to technological progress. He cited the state’s potential for robotics development, noting the “huge potential” in Tamil Nadu’s students.

Abdul Qadir, Pro Chancellor of BSACIST, where the centre is located, added that India’s large market presents significant opportunities for students. He encouraged students to identify problems, develop solutions, and create prototypes to access resources and funding. The new centre aims to foster innovation and collaboration in the rapidly expanding field of robotics.
