**Chittoor, March 7, 2025** – A renewed push for road safety in Chittoor district saw the Secretary of the Chittoor District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), M.S. Bharathi, appealing to two-wheeler riders to make helmet usage mandatory. Speaking at an awareness camp held Friday in Arul Puram, Gudipala mandal, Ms. Bharathi stressed the importance of helmets in preventing fatalities and critical injuries from road accidents. She emphasized that wearing a helmet is not only a legal obligation but also a moral responsibility towards oneself and one’s family.
The camp, organized by the DLSA, saw the distribution of 300 helmets to underprivileged individuals by voluntary organizations. Ms. Bharathi lauded this initiative and encouraged further NGO participation in similar awareness campaigns. Senior officials from the police and Road Transport departments also attended the event. The focus on helmet usage highlights the ongoing efforts to reduce road accident casualties in the district.
