Fri Mar 07 16:33:00 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka Revenue Department Unveils Major Land Record Reforms
**Bengaluru, March 7, 2025** – The Karnataka Revenue Department announced sweeping reforms aimed at modernizing land records and improving citizen services. Key initiatives include the “Pauti” mission to correct land records for individuals incorrectly identified as deceased during Aadhaar seeding and E-Jamabandi software to streamline village and taluk level records.
A new e-stamping system, integrated into the Kaveri 2.0 portal, will allow citizens to prepare and pay stamp duty directly to the government, eliminating intermediaries. Following a recent DDoS attack on Kaveri 2.0, the Revenue Department will now assume responsibility for its maintenance, having commissioned IIITB to assess and address vulnerabilities.
The department also announced plans to enact a new Land Revenue Act to replace the outdated 1964 version, aiming for greater clarity and efficient implementation. A significant ₹76 crore has been allocated to upgrade 36 Sub-Registrar offices in Bengaluru, which handle 75% of the state’s registrations. These reforms signal a major push towards digitalization and transparency within Karnataka’s land administration.
