Fri Mar 07 15:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Minister Condemns BJP Leader’s Remarks After MLC Elections
**Hyderabad, March 6, 2025** – Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar criticized Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his comments characterizing the Congress party’s win in two out of three recent MLC elections as a “Ramzan gift.” Prabhakar deemed the remarks immature and lacking political understanding, emphasizing that Sanjay Kumar’s position as a Union Minister demands greater decorum.
The Minister highlighted the BJP’s close association with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), suggesting that the BJP’s success wasn’t a resounding victory and was partly due to the BRS’s abstention from fielding candidates. He challenged BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and MLA T. Harish Rao to disclose their voting choices in the elections, alleging collusion between the two parties.
While acknowledging the electoral outcome as part of the democratic process, Prabhakar stated the Congress will review its performance. He dismissed any significant immediate impact of the defeat on Telangana politics.
Prabhakar further pressed Union Ministers to demonstrate their effectiveness by securing central funding for Telangana, accusing the Centre of discrimination in project approvals and fund releases. He specifically demanded a timeline for the construction of an eight-lane highway from Ramagundam to Hyderabad and criticized Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy for his perceived lack of contribution to Telangana during his previous tenure as Union Tourism Minister.
