**Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh – March 7, 2025** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Andhra Pradesh has announced a significant milestone, claiming to have enrolled 2.5 million new members. State president D. Purandeswari stated that this surge in membership will bolster the party’s performance in upcoming local body elections and pave the way for increased representation in the state’s coalition government.
Speaking at a district-level party meeting in Chittoor, Ms. Purandeswari emphasized the need for swift appointment of members to mandal and booth-level committees. She highlighted the importance of continued strong performance to achieve this goal.
Ms. Purandeswari underscored the crucial role of the central government’s support in Andhra Pradesh’s development, citing key projects such as Polavaram, Amaravati, Visakha railway zone, a steel plant, industrial corridors, and national highways. She argued that the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government’s policies hampered development, making central support all the more vital. She noted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had also recently stressed the importance of this central support.
Ms. Purandeswari is scheduled to visit the Lord Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy temple in Kanipakam on Saturday.
