**ISLAMABAD, March 7, 2025** – The Pakistani government announced a significant cabinet expansion today, appointing 12 new ministers to various portfolios. This brings the total number of ministers, ministers of state, advisors, and special assistants to the Prime Minister to 51. The appointments, announced in an official notification, mark the first major cabinet reshuffle since the current government took office a year ago.

Key appointees include Hanif Abbasi (Railways), Mustafa Kamal (Health), Sardar Yousaf (Religious Affairs), Shaza Fatima (Information Technology), and Rana Mubashir Iqbal (Public Affairs). Other newly appointed ministers received portfolios in Parliamentary Affairs, Petroleum, Science and Technology, Water Resources, National Heritage and Culture, Maritime Affairs, and Defence Production.

While the 12 ministers were sworn in on February 27th, their portfolios were only assigned today. The expanded cabinet now comprises 30 ministers, nine ministers of state, four advisors, and eight special assistants to the Prime Minister.
