Fri Mar 07 08:00:54 UTC 2025: ## Maoist IED Kills Miner in Chhattisgarh Iron Ore Mine

**Raipur, Chhattisgarh – March 7, 2025** – A Maoist-planted improvised explosive device (IED) detonated at an iron ore mine in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district today, killing one laborer and injuring another. The blast occurred around 10:45 AM at the Aamdai Ghati mine, approximately 350 km from the state capital, Raipur.

Police reported that two laborers accidentally triggered the IED while resting in an open area. Dilip Kumar Baghel succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a local hospital, while Harendra Nag is recovering from his wounds.

The Aamdai Ghati mine is operated by Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited (JNIL), a project that has faced long-standing opposition from Maoist groups. This is the third such incident at the mine in recent months; a laborer was injured in a similar blast on February 5th, and two were killed in November 2023. A search operation is currently underway in the area.
