**NEW DELHI –** A senior Indian Foreign Service officer, Jitendra Rawat, died by suicide Friday morning in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri neighborhood. Police sources confirmed Rawat, aged between 35 and 40, jumped from the roof of his government-allotted residence in a colony for External Affairs Ministry officers around 6 am.
Rawat, who was reportedly undergoing treatment for depression, is survived by his wife and two children, who reside in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Only his mother was present at the time of the incident. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Further details are awaited.
