**VIZIANAGARAM, March 7, 2025** – Bank employees in Vizianagaram district held a protest on Friday, demanding an end to outsourcing practices and increased hiring within the public sector banking system. The protest, organized by the Vizianagaram district bank employees’ coordination committee and in conjunction with the United Forum for Bank Unions, took place near the main branch of the State Bank of India.
Committee president B.V. Prasad and secretary K. Murali Srinivas criticized bank managements for increasing workloads and failing to implement a promised five-day workweek. They issued a warning that a two-day strike is planned for March 24th and 25th if their demands are not met. The unions have submitted a formal representation to the government and bank managements.
