**Patna, Bihar – March 6, 2025** – Noted Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Patna High Court against singer Yo Yo Honey Singh’s latest song, “Maniac,” alleging its lyrics are excessively vulgar and objectify women.
The PIL, which is expected to be heard later this month, names Honey Singh, lyricist Leo Grewal, and Bhojpuri singers Ragini Vishwakarma and Arjun Ajanabi as respondents. Chandra, a Patna native who has also produced Bhojpuri and Maithili films, argues the song’s use of Bhojpuri normalizes vulgarity and undermines women’s empowerment. She is seeking a court order for the respondents to amend the song’s lyrics.
