**Hyderabad, March 6, 2025** – Nagalapalli Naga Raju has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), the Ministry of Education announced today. The appointment, effective immediately, was approved by President Droupadi Murmu.
Dr. Raju, formerly the Vice-Chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University in Odisha, brings over 37 years of experience in teaching, research, and university administration to the role. His tenure at EFLU will be for five years or until he reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first.
His career includes significant positions at the Central University of Karnataka and Rajiv Gandhi Central University in Arunachal Pradesh. A renowned scholar in English literature, Dr. Raju has published extensively and presented at international conferences, including those hosted by the South Asian Literary Association and the Modern Language Association. His administrative experience encompasses serving as Head of the Department of English, Dean of Languages, and Registrar.
