**Malappuram, Kerala, March 6, 2025** – A 36-year-old man, Jerin Abraham, was arrested today for causing a public panic by spreading a fake video of a tiger sighting. Abraham shared a three-year-old video clip on his WhatsApp status, claiming he encountered a tiger while traveling through a plantation near Karuvarankundu.
His post generated significant fear among locals. However, an investigation by forest officials, involving the review of surveillance footage and a site examination, revealed the video to be fabricated.
