**Bengaluru, March 6, 2025** – A major crackdown on corruption in Karnataka saw the Lokayukta Police conducting state-wide search operations targeting eight government officials accused of possessing disproportionate assets. Raids were carried out at over 40 locations, including the residences and offices of the accused and their relatives.
The operation, which spanned multiple districts including Bengaluru, Kolar, Kalaburgi, Davanagere, Tumakuru, Bagalakote, and Vijayapura, resulted in the seizure of assets worth several crores. Authorities confiscated a significant amount of cash, jewelry, land, vehicles, and foreign currency, with gold ornaments alone totaling ₹36,53,05737.
Among the officials targeted were high-ranking engineers, a medical officer, and food safety officials. Those implicated have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Lokayukta Police release detailed the names and positions of each official involved. The investigation is ongoing.
