**Kozhikode, Kerala – March 6, 2025** – A one-day cyber awareness workshop, “Cyber Secure Perumanna,” was held today to improve digital security among residents of Perumanna panchayat in Kozhikode, Kerala. The initiative, a collaboration between the IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (IEEE SIGHT) of the Government Engineering College (GEC), Kozhikode, the Kerala Gazetted Officers Association (KGOA), Kozhikode, and the Perumanna panchayat, focused on equipping Kudumbashree members with essential cybersecurity skills.

The workshop, inaugurated by Perumanna grama panchayat president Shaji Puthalath, featured presentations highlighting the importance of digital literacy in today’s interconnected world by KGOA State vice president Sudhakaran P.P. and IEEE convener Bindima T. Student volunteers from IEEE, GEC Kozhikode, led interactive sessions covering online safety, data protection, and secure digital practices.

This initiative reflects IEEE’s commitment to community engagement and promoting a safer digital environment through practical training and empowerment at the grassroots level.
