**Bengaluru, March 6, 2025** – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya married Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Sivasri Skandaprasad in a private ceremony in Bengaluru today. The intimate traditional wedding was attended by several prominent BJP leaders and ministers, including Union Ministers of State V. Sommanna and Arjun Ram Meghwal, and MPs P.C. Mohan and Shobha Karandlaje. Other attendees included Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra, BJP leader Pratap Simha, BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santosh, and Public TV editor Ranganath. Historian and author Vikram Sampath was also present.
Ms. Skandaprasad, who hails from a musically renowned family – her grandfather was Carnatic vocalist Seerkazhi Jayaraman and her father a mridangam vidwan – is a well-known figure in the devotional and classical music scene. She recently expanded her repertoire into film music, contributing vocals to “Vanathi’s Message” in A.R. Rahman’s score for *Ponniyin Selvan*. Ms. Skandaprasad also holds degrees in Bioengineering, Bharatanatyam, and Sanskrit.
The wedding of the two-time MP was celebrated with traditional customs and garnered attention on social media as several attendees shared photos of the happy couple.
