**Nagercoil, March 6, 2025** – A 45-year-old assistant loco pilot, M. Pradeep, died of a suspected cardiac arrest early Thursday morning. Pradeep, hailing from Kollam, collapsed at Nagercoil railway junction after completing his duties on the Vivek Express, which runs between Dibrugarh and Kanniyakumari.
According to Railway Police, Pradeep had accompanied the loco pilot from Nagercoil to Kanniyakumari and returned to Nagercoil with an empty rake. He collapsed while completing post-journey formalities. Despite being rushed to Asaripallam Government Medical College and Hospital, he lost consciousness en route and was pronounced dead upon arrival. Doctors attributed the death to cardiac arrest.
