**New Delhi, March 6:** Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) are bracing for a significant temperature spike this week, with the mercury expected to soar to a scorching 35°C by March 11th, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This early heatwave follows an unusually short winter, leading to concerns about an intensely hot summer ahead.
The IMD forecasts a steady temperature increase starting March 7th. Highs are predicted to range from 29-31°C with lows of 12-14°C on March 7th, rising to 30-32°C and 14-16°C respectively by March 8th. By March 9th and 10th, temperatures are expected to reach 31-33°C (highs) and 15-18°C (lows). The peak temperature of 33-35°C is anticipated on March 11th, with a slight dip to 31-33°C on March 12th.
Meanwhile, a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region from March 9th. This could bring light to moderate rain or snowfall to Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh from March 9th to 12th, and light to moderate rain in Uttarakhand from March 10th to 12th.
