**Bengaluru, March 4, 2025** – A 47-year-old home guard and his associate were arrested in Doddaballapura, Karnataka, after evading capture for two decades. Nagaraju, a home guard serving with the Andhra Pradesh police, and Srinivasulu, a marketing manager for a private company, were apprehended for a 2004 electric motor theft.
The duo, initially arrested and released on bail, jumped bail and fled to Andhra Pradesh, adopting new identities. Nagaraju continued his career in law enforcement, while Srinivasulu pursued higher education and a successful career in marketing.
Acting on a renewed focus on clearing old cases, Doddaballapura Rural Police tracked the suspects through family and friends, ultimately locating them. They were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody. The arrest highlights a successful long-term investigation and a renewed effort to address outstanding cases.
