Tue Mar 04 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Popular Twitch Streamer Hasan Piker Suspended After Controversial “Kill Rick Scott” Remark

**LOS ANGELES, CA – March 6, 2024** – Popular left-leaning Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, known for his 2.8 million followers, has been suspended from the platform following a controversial statement urging viewers to “kill” Florida Senator Rick Scott. The suspension was announced Monday, days after Piker made the remark during a live stream.

Piker’s comment, made while discussing allegations of Medicare and Medicaid fraud against Scott, immediately sparked backlash. He argued that Scott’s involvement in a massive healthcare fraud case during his time leading Columbia/HCA warranted such a strong reaction. Columbia/HCA was fined $1.7 billion in the 1990s for defrauding federal programs. Scott has maintained that he was a victim of “political persecution.”

While the length of Piker’s suspension remains unclear, Twitch’s statement simply notes a violation of community guidelines. Piker’s YouTube channel remains active. He responded to the suspension on X, suggesting he would use stronger rhetoric in the future.

This is not the first time Piker has faced controversy. In 2019, he drew criticism for comments about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. More recently, he has been vocal in his support of Palestinian liberation and critical of Israel, raising over $100,000 for a Gaza aid fundraiser. These positions, along with other outspoken views, have led to accusations of antisemitism, which Piker denies.

The suspension highlights the ongoing debate about the boundaries of free speech and acceptable content on streaming platforms. TheWrap reached out to Piker and Twitch for comment but received no immediate response.
