HYDERABAD, March 4, 2025 – The Telangana government has approved a program allowing 150 Mandal Mahila Samakyas (MMS), women’s self-help groups, to purchase and lease 150 buses to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). Each bus, costing ₹36 lakh, will be leased to TGSRTC for a monthly fee of ₹77,220, equivalent to 15% of the seven-year loan EMI.

The government will guarantee the loans for the MMS groups, with TGSRTC registering the buses under the respective MMS. A launch ceremony, attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Panchayat Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya, will see 50 buses flagged off in Hyderabad’s Parade Grounds. This initiative is Phase I; a further 450 buses are planned for Phase II. The selected MMS groups are located across 17 districts in the former Khammam, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal districts.
