**Thiruvananthapuram, March 3, 2025** – Over 4.27 lakh students commenced their SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examinations across Kerala, Lakshadweep, and the Gulf region today. The exams, held at 2,980 centers, saw students taking the first language paper this morning. A near-equal number of boys (2.17 lakh) and girls (2.09 lakh) are participating in the exams, which conclude on March 26. Answer script evaluation will begin April 3 at 72 camps.
Simultaneously, the Plus Two higher secondary examinations also began today, with 4.44 lakh students (2.17 lakh boys and 2.27 lakh girls) appearing at 2,000 centers across the same regions. These exams will also conclude on March 26, with evaluation commencing on April 3. A further 26,372 students are sitting the VHSE exams. Both SSLC and Plus Two students underwent model examinations in February. The first paper for Plus Two students was Part 1 English. Students at a Government Moyan Model Girls Higher Secondary School in Palakkad were given honey by PTA officials before their exams.
