**Bengaluru, March 4, 2025** – The slow development of Infosys’ Hubballi campus in Karnataka has sparked renewed criticism in the state legislature. BJP member S.V. Sankanur questioned Industries Minister M.B. Patil about the company’s progress, highlighting the discrepancy between the land granted at a concessional rate and the limited job creation.
The issue, previously raised in 2024, centers on Infosys’ acquisition of 43 acres of land. Legislators accuse the IT giant of underutilizing the land, despite promises of significant employment opportunities. While Minister Patil assured the council that discussions with Infosys are ongoing and that excess land will be reclaimed, Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti urged the government to take firm action regardless of the company’s size. Further meetings between the government and Infosys are planned to address the concerns.
