Mon Mar 03 19:58:29 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Health Minister Accuses AAP of Mismanagement of Public Health Funds

**NEW DELHI, March 4, 2025** – Delhi’s Health Minister Pankaj Singh launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of widespread financial mismanagement in the public health sector. Singh’s statement follows the release of a partial Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on Delhi’s health infrastructure and services, tabled in the Delhi Assembly on February 28.

Singh claimed that the AAP government, led by Arvind Kejriwal, “looted people with both hands,” citing the CAG report which revealed underutilization of funds allocated for COVID-19 relief and a general lack of adequate resources in Delhi’s hospitals. He specifically alleged that less than 75% of central funds earmarked for COVID-19 response were used effectively, with funds allegedly misused on frivolous projects, including the construction of a lavish “Sheesh Mahal” (palace of mirrors).

The report also highlighted critical staffing shortages, insufficient medical supplies, and a deterioration in the condition of public hospitals such as Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital. Singh, a dentist-turned-politician, noted his personal experience and disappointment at the current state of these institutions.

Singh emphasized that only part A of the CAG report has been released, with part B yet to be presented. The full report is expected to provide further details of the alleged mismanagement. The AAP government is yet to respond to these accusations.
