**Kolkata, March 4, 2025** – Prasun Dey, a prime suspect in the Tangra triple murder case, was arrested late Monday night by Kolkata Police. Dey, 45, and his brother Pranay, 48, had been hospitalized under police guard at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital following a February 19th car crash. The crash, an apparent suicide attempt, led to the discovery of three bodies at the brothers’ Tangra residence.
Following his release from the hospital, Dey was questioned at the Tangra Police Station. Police sources indicate inconsistencies in his statements, prompting the arrest. While initial statements were recorded earlier, detailed questioning was delayed pending medical clearance.
Autopsies confirmed the three deaths were homicides. Police concluded on February 25th that no outside parties were involved in the crime. The investigation continues.
