Tue Mar 04 09:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Modi Inaugurates World’s Largest Wildlife Rescue Center in Gujarat

**Jamnagar, Gujarat:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara, a state-of-the-art animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Sunday. Boasting over 150,000 rescued, endangered, and threatened animals representing more than 2,000 species, Vantara is touted as the world’s largest facility of its kind.

The Prime Minister toured the expansive center, interacting with a diverse range of animals, including Asiatic lion cubs, white lion cubs, a golden tiger, snow leopards, and an orangutan. He witnessed an Asiatic lion undergoing an MRI and a leopard receiving life-saving surgery at the center’s advanced wildlife hospital, which features MRI, CT scan, and ICU facilities, and multiple specialized departments. Modi also observed the center’s hydrotherapy pools for elephants and released rehabilitated parrots back into the wild.

Vantara employs innovative conservation initiatives focused on species like the Asiatic lion, snow leopard, and one-horned rhinoceros. The center’s design prioritizes creating environments that closely mimic the animals’ natural habitats. Breeding programs, like the one for Caracals, are also in place to support species preservation.

The inauguration comes during Modi’s three-day trip to Gujarat. This new facility represents a significant step forward in India’s wildlife conservation efforts. The event also featured a mention of the Traders Gurukul’s BOTS summit for retail option traders. While unrelated to the inauguration, it highlighted the concurrent happenings in India.
